The Weir House sits on the bank of the Wye, where it flows into the gorge in the tiny but popular hamlet of Symonds Yat East; the Wye Valley Walk uses the Hand Pulled Ferry operated by the Saracens Head Inn (which is next door). The Sustrans Peregrine Trail offers traffic free, flat, riverside cycling to Monmouth from the door.
There are four bedrooms; a double en-suite, a twin en-suite and two further double rooms. All bedrooms have an uninterrupted view of the glorious River Wye. There are also two further bath/shower rooms.
There is also a separate bathroom with a shower over bath. Downstairs is a sitting room with TV, log burner, and patio doors onto a private riverside terrace with furniture. Parking is free, directly in front of the house.
The kitchen and eating area are very socially open plan, and there is a separate snug/lounge with sofas and a large TV. Both the kitchen and the snug open onto a partially covered, sunny riverside patio. There is free Wi-Fi throughout.
The Weir House sleeps up to 8 people over three floors. We do allow children over to stay here but they will require supervision.
Regretfully we do not allow pets to stay, and it is a strictly no smoking property (that includes hanging out of a window). We do ask guests to respect the environment and other residents in the valley, so ask for quiet after 10.30pm.
The Weir House is available to book through Bolthole Retreats, www.boltholeretreats.co.uk, and is currently to be found in the Forest of Dean region. Booking is quick and easy.

We serve delicious cooked breakfasts with a variety of traditional and healthy options. Choose from a full cooked breakfast or any variant of, with poached hen’s eggs, grilled kipper, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, not to mention an array of fruits, nuts, serials, croissants and yogurts.
We strive to source the best local and national produce from across britain. We take immense pride in working with dedicated local producers. On our doorstep we have access to an array of passionate growers who provide us with everything from salads & micro flowers to cheese & butter. Herefordshire and its neighbouring counties are a treasure trove of quality artisan produce which give our chefs the opportunity to work with the seasons to allow for only the freshest ingredients to make it on to your plates.

We also have a beautiful 5 x 1,5m mural “The Mystical Wye” which was created in the breakfast dining room by local artist Jan Thompson. Jan created an impressionistic panorama of the Wye Valley from Hereford to the Sea and is popular with our guests.
